A giant round of storms came through, and then I went flying with a student in the pattern doing crosswind takeoffs and landings. There was a big rainbow off to the side, a double one actually. Made me smile. Came home, messed with the cat, worked with Ann, getting ready for tomorrow...
Home of hodge-podge thoughts, daily schedules, occasional mental musings, and the little bits of nothing special that make up any family's life. This is ours...

Roadie
I took Roadie to the vet first thing this morning, because she had peed on herself, wasn't eating, or drinking, or moving much at all. She would growl if you picked her up, which means she obviously wasn't feeling good. They had an opening at 9 am, so I ran her over to emergency care. The vet there said she was skin and bones, and "pitiful". They gave her some fluids, and the Vitamin B shot, and Steroids, and cleaned her up, and sent us home for observation. I couldn't get her to eat anything, even her favorite, tuna. She would always eat tuna even when I couldn't get her to eat anything else. But not today, She wouldn't eat, she wouldn't drink, she wouldn't move to the pee pad to go to the bathroom, she'd just wet on herself. We brought her home, and she was on the deck, and wasn't moving most of the afternoon. We brought her inside, but put her in an area in the kitchen where she'd make a mess and be okay. Kaylee sat down with her and squired water in her mouth with a syringe, and then squirted some tuna and tuna juice in her mouth too. She got a little bit in throughout the day. Roadie got up once and walked over to a pad and peed on it, so at least she didn't wet on herself this last time, and at least she moved. Kaylee moves in to college tomorrow, and if Roadie won't start eating and drinking, this will be the end within a couple days. So hopefully Roadie perks back up a little bit and will start eating and drinking more. I'm glad Roadie's been here while Kaylee was off of school and home for the summer, as it gave her someone to hang out with and take care of, and she enjoyed that. Losing Roadie is going to be hard on her. They think maybe cancer, but they're unsure. Finding out would be invasive and expensive and there wouldn't be a thing to do about it.
