Kaylee is in Ohio for her first day of training. I don't know how it's going, yet. She tried to call me once but I was busy, and I just tried to call her and SHE was busy, so...I'll let you know when I know. :)
She just called and had a fantastic first day. She gets along great with the CEO and the lady she's reporting to, and learned a lot, and is excited about working there this summer. WHEW!
Her doctor called in "Nurtec" for her headaches. I went to pick it up today and it went through insurance and was $886.00. I left it there. What the ACTUAL...if there's a good time to publicly say the "F" word, that seems to be it, to be honest. I'm going to look up my options and see if I can get discounts somewhere. We don't even know if it works. And if it does work, we sure can't pick that up once a month! Unreal. Always something, huh?
Jamie D. is causing us problems and losing his crap. At the event, Steve told him not to blast his music out of his little boom box while driving around the golf cart around people, and that he couldn't drive the vehicle out on the ramp. (He's an unlicensed, inexperienced, and not good yet, driver.) He took that as a personal affront, and has gone on the attack. He started texting Steve a bunch of nasty stuff, enough that Steve actually blocked him from his phone so he won't see any more. Jamie texted stuff like how he hopes everyone's airplanes are destroyed and he will sit and laugh. That's all one thing, but then he's posted on at least one aviation facebook forum I've found, with over 43,000 people, naming Steve in full, and the airport, and our Poker Run event, and telling people not to go because we shit on our volunteers and yelled at him, and it was shared a couple times, and got some responses. I'm mad enough I'm waiting for Steve to get me screenshots of some of what he posted, and I'm going to post it as a response to that post. Then he'll block me and I won't be able to see what he says any more, but that's probably not a bad thing either. He told Andrew, the guy who was his only friend growing up, who stood by him through everything, that he hopes he dies in a plane crash. He's lost it, won't take his meds, and has just snipped the cord of one of the last people who he ever had in his corner, which was Steve. And it really bothers Steve, too. I just want to beat his ass. (Jamie's, not Steve's.) Might do him some good. I realize he has 'mental health issues', but we teach people how to treat us in what we allow, and I will not allow that, not to me, anyway, regardless of his mental health. I hope he gets help and changes, for his own sake. He's got a hard road ahead now that he's pushed away his mom, his best friend, and now his only real airport support.
On to more pleasant things, Isabel passed her checkride! And she had to do it with a formation clinic going on, AND the aerobatic box went hot and stayed busy all day! I got nervous for her at that point, but thankfully she did great!
The formation clinic was fun, and I even got up in the T-6, with Glenn in BOB, and a 4-ship of Beechcraft. We couldn't all go together because of CAF rules. We tried to get a shot of the ramp and the formations, but the photographer isn't a real air to air guy yet, and he didn't get the shot. We'll try again another day. Steve flew the T-6 from the back with no real seat or cushion, and by the last landing he made a pretty decent one. That's tricky. I didn't even feel like instructing him from the back without getting a little more currency, sitting so far down in it. He did very well.
Yay, our magazine is here! Warbird Digest, with both the BOB article and the column at the back of the magazine that I wrote. Has my name on it and everything. :) Cool! Steve's been hanging onto that today, didn't tell me he had it, so I went to the PO Box and Glenndale looking for it. Bum! lol I'm pleased though!
I went on a trip this morning to Ohio, drove to Frankfort and picked up a Cherokee Six, flew it to OH and picked up Ethan, who was dropping off his 340 for annual. A nice day for a nice flight.
I'm going to post some photos here from the weekend. Good times...
