Wasted Space

How it was supposed to go: Ethan goes on his multi-instrument checkride early afternoon, I drive to Frankfort, fly his 340 over to Ohio, and pick him up, bring him back to Frankfort, drive back to Kokomo, and do a night flight with Brad in the RG.  Instead, I was on hold all day, not sure when I'd be going.  Steve and I drove out together that morning so we just had the one car.  As the day got longer, now I was running into my night flight.  I eventually rescheduled him for tomorrow so I could get to Ohio and back tonight.  Meanwhile I have a guy coming from Illinois to do C-45 training Friday and Saturday, and I needed to tell him what time to come tomorrow, but if my guy didn't do his checkride today after all, then he'd do it tomorrow and I'd have to go get him then first.  So right around 6 pm he called to say he was done with the oral, but they were going to wait until tomorrow to do his checkride.

So I got hold of my C-45 guy who was supposed to come tomorrow morning, and fortunately for me, he is having a problem with his client, and won't be able to come until Saturday morning.  Now tomorrow morning I go get Ethan after his checkride, and then fly that evening with the guy I put off from tonight, and then Saturday I fly with Glenn.  It'll all work out.

To recap, I sat around all day and waited for things that never happened.

I did get the avionics updated on the 340 and the RG, and I did get some billing sent out, and I got Nathan's logbook caught up, and mine.

Kaylee got her hair permed today, and I think she likes it.  I haven't seen it in person yet, but she said she was pleased.

I went over to see Ann a couple times today, and she was doing all right. I think the new med really helps her for now.

Remember my cousin Kevin who died of Covid about 6 weeks ago?  Well, today his Mom fell down, went unresponsive, and passed away at 3 am.  So my mom's brother Marion lost his youngest son a month and a half ago, then lost his wife today.  He also has lost three brothers and a sister within the last several months too. What a horrible time for the family...

Tomorrow will be less busy than originally planned, but I'll probably take the time to take the C-45 up and do my currency landings in it, and go over the ground material to prepare for Glenn coming on Saturday.  He'll be my first official brand new checkout on it, so I won't have that instruction down smoothly yet, but ya gotta start somewhere.
