Panama City, to be precise.
But first I started my day at the dermatologist, because I'm old now, and old people go see the dermatologist so they don't die from some stupid skin cancer that could have been caught and cured in no time flat if someone had just seen it in time. *sigh* Last year I had something removed from my arm that was "pre" problem. This year there was nothing interesting. But I had two other missions, one successful, one not. Ann's dermatologist is in Indy, and she needs to see him for something on her neck, but she can't really travel down there nor hike up his stairs. It needs to be here in Indy, and it was the same practice just different offices. Except they can't find any record of her. So I struck out there, and I'll have to go through them to see about transferring her to here. Secondly, Kaylee has a spot that shows up on her shoulder any time she gets a sunburn. It looks like an off-colored, mostly round but not totally smooth edges...thing...with a raised bump in the middle. I took a picture two months ago in preparation for this visit. I'm sure it breaks a rule, they want people to come in person, but I asked anyway. The doctor said "I can't tell 100% without seeing it in person, but it doesn't look like anything. And tell her to stop getting burnt." lol Yep. And I need brownie points for remembering all three of these things first thing in the morning when I had a big flight coming up and had to be closely inspected in all my unclothedness too.
That's one reason this is a good job. I could tell them I had a dermatology appointment scheduled a year in advance and I needed to go to it, and they just waited. No demands or anger, just...they'd chill out until I got there, and then we'd go. And I get paid for a full day. Good things.
Today's trip to Florida was a lot more relaxed than Monday's. The weather was so much better, and we weren't running tight on fuel thanks to being able to determine more likely what is and isn't accurate in there and more tightly keeping it under control. We were able to go all the way down non-stop, and then picked up 4 more people for a total of six in the 340, with partial fuel. A fuel stop in Winchester, TN, then we made it the rest of the way home. 7.3 hours of flight time today plus two ground stops. Uneventful, easy, just a little long, but the paycheck doesn't hurt.
D wants me to go to New York for an overnight, and I can't. I've promised to go to WI for a long time now, and I HAVE to go before their plane goes in for annual at the end of the month. I canceled my last trip up there for MBros and we are running out of days. I can't cancel again, because I promised. So then D wants me to do an IPC and currency flight. Except tomorrow I go to Kentucky, we get back Sunday, and I leave Monday for Wisconsin, after Michaele's funeral. So...I don't even have time for that. I told him maybe tomorrow morning, maybe Sunday when I get back, and maybe very early Monday morning before the funeral. That's all I've got. Until like...October, basically.
No pics from today, wasn't in the mood. I didn't get a grouper sandwich this time either, just Subway, but this time it was a down and back, so I didn't really have any time on the ground there to do anything but stuff down something fast and leave again. Disappointing, but only mildly, my grouper the other day was very good. ;)
