Tuesday

I slept so well last night, it was amazing. I slept for 8 hours straight, with only little wake-ups.  I think I heard angels singing.

I didn't have a lot of flights, so I spent the day doing things I didn't want to do. I called a doc, a veterinarian (Roadie's eye is messed up), man, I forget everything I did right now, but it was one phone call or email after another, all morning until lunch, and after lunch for awhile too.  Oh, dealt with a guy who wants to test fly the C-45 before deciding if he wants to sponsor/fly it. It's not legal for him to left seat or even touch the controls unless HQ gives him a letter of approval for training, which I told him, but then I said that I'd put him right seat and let him fly from there.  He said he wanted to fly left seat  because that's where he spent the last 20 years as an airline captain even in training.  I didn't really appreciate the tone or attitude, so I told him I was sure he could decide if he was interested in the plane or not sitting in the right seat too, and that if he sponsored the plane and went through the paperwork, he'd be left seat for the official checkout, naturally.  I don't know why people feel the need to push sometimes.  Check the ego, scooter. He has no multi tailwheel time and no heavy tailwheel time, so...like I said. Chill, Mr. Airline. It was stuff like that I messed with all day.

Then the skies cleared (it was also IFR), and I went up with a student on his pre-solo checkout flight.  From another instructor who wants to see if he's ready to go solo or not.  I think he's probably pretty close but he was inconsistent, and would sometimes level off too high, and didn't know how to fix it properly. It never got bad, but it could, so that'll be a discussion with the CFI.

Tonight was also the CAF meeting. Steve and I flew down in the RG because Gumby is too hard to pull out by ourselves. Some day we'll get a tug that works well again back to be able to get Gumby in and out without 3 people there to pull and steer, but for now it's a production.  Anyway, the meeting was fine, nothing exciting, pretty good food and a good turn-out including a couple of new folks.

I got home after dark and Ann was waiting for me, peeking out the blinds.  She was in good spirits.

These are pictures Jon T took of Metro. I thought he did a nice job with them.  I'll only post the ones I'm in mostly, the rest are up on Facebook anyway.  :)

This isn't me but I liked the picture.

I'm #3 down there at the bottom left

This formation stuff is fun. It's hard work, it's frustrating, if you're slightly out of position at any given time the camera will catch it and you'll look bad, but dang it, it's also just a lot of fun.  And cool.  Okay, it's cool.
