It was bugger hot out today. Just horrible. At one point the heat index was 106 degrees, outside. In the cockpit was pretty brutal. I was so hot and over-hot that I actually felt a little sick.
I had one flight in the 172 for almost 2 hours, checkride prep. Today went a lot better than yesterday on that end, except it was blistering, suffocatingly, breath-taking hot. We weren't prepared for this today.
I also ran up BOB three times today, both engines. Wobble pumping and priming 16 times per engine per time. But the good news is that BOB is back in business, and I should be able to fly it Saturday for the Indy Metro rides event. The bad news is that we haven't pre-sold any rides, and it's not well organized, so I have no idea if this Saturday will be successful or a bust. But on cooler news, I've been asked to do a formation fly-over at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday with Tom M. and JP. Now that I have a FAST card, I can do waivered airspace things like that. So, that's nice. Some race car event, and they're actually doing TSA security background checks using my birthdate, birth place, Passport number, etc. So, that'll be interesting.
I'm supposed to do T-6 and C-45 rides also on Saturday, so hopefully that pans out, they sell some rides, and it goes decently.
Ann had a bad night and woke up in bad shape, got better as the day went on. Roadie is tipping over when she walks and her one eye looks funny. Vet said the ear thing could throw her off balance for awhile. It has. Hopefully she's better tomorrow. She's purring right now which is good, but she's a little too bony.
And now you're caught up.
