Saturday

The winds were blowing like crazy again, canceling my Champ flight, and my student in the 172's solo cross country.  I met the guys for lunch at Pastarrific, then we went out to the airport for a few minutes before Steve, AE and I drove over to Marion to move Kaylee's table out of her dorm.  She is done with this semester, has to move out of this dorm and into another by May 4th.  She can get most of it, but her table is too big to go to her new room, so we brought it home to see if it fit on our deck (no), then back out to the airport where we put it in the big hangar.  By the time we did all that running around, it was dinner time, so Nathan, AE, Steve and I went to Marble the Steakhouse, had a nice Malbec, some excellent calamari, I had salmon, the boys had steak, and it was excellent.  Good company, good food, good evening.

Mr. Bones was sitting in the T-6 front seat, wearing my helmet yesterday.  It was funny, but I didn't have my phone on me to snap a photo.  Today I went over there, and he'd been moved back to BOB.  I thought it was funny, so I snapped a photo.  It was funnier wearing my helmet, but I needed to bring that home to repair a loose wire.  First I had to take alcohol wipes and clean up my helmet. Around the chin strap, and cheeks/ears, my make up had caked and baked on it.  I got it cleaned up though, and it's looking much better.  :)  It's a little bothersome that my helmet was tight on a skeleton, but hey.

Today Cameron stopped by. (Cameron was the young survivor of the accident). He's still got an arm wrap on, has some problems with his burns, and is recovering from shoulder surgery too, but he was happy, went flying with Cusick, and is going to work out at the airport with us this summer.  I had promised to take him flying months ago, but everything broke down and/or weather stopped me.  He really wanted to go in the Cheyenne. It just so happens that tomorrow I planned on flying it briefly before topping it off and having it ready to go for the checkflight whenever that actually happens.  So I asked if he wanted to go along, and he lit up like a Christmas tree and told me to call him any time tomorrow.  I'm going to sleep in (if I can), take my time, shoot him a message, and go fly for less than an hour. It should be fun, even though the winds are supposed to kick up around 30 knots again.  The Cheyenne can handle it. Better than the Champ.  ;)

Mr. Bones in BOB.  I tilted the photo to make it more accurate.  lol
