More Maneuvering

Steve spent the day working on Ann's bedroom. The people who did the ceiling repair and painting did a good job on those two things, but did a bad job on the closets and left paint on the wood in parts, too.  So he's having to repair and paint the closets himself, and then we have to let it dry, and then we have to move the bedroom furniture and stuff back in.  So Ann's still here, will be for a few more days likely.

I was able to sleep in until 8 am, and that's hours later than I've been sleeping in to, so it felt like a holiday.  THEN I got to sit here with a cup of coffee and watch Sunday Morning on CBS in peace and quiet too.  Total holiday.

I had to get my PT-26 currency flight done before the end of the month, so I took my time and got ready, and drove down to Indy.  Getting the plane in and out by yourself is a real treat, but I managed it.  I'm guessing it looked like something from America's Funniest Home Videos at times, but I made it.  It was a beautiful day for it.  I had looked up the last flight I had in it, and saw Jerry Long's name in my logbook.  Kind of a little punch.

On this pretty day I did steep turns, slow flight, power off and on stalls, short field takeoff and landing, 3-point landing, wheel landing, did an engine out in the pattern all the way to landing, a no flap landing, and an aborted landing.  I started off actually a little rusty, but by the 2nd takeoff I had the feel of it again.  It's so underpowered, you just can't rush it, and you just can't expect it to climb much. lol  I enjoyed my time.  I was only up for .8 and I still did everything I needed to, so...that was good.  Next up I need to check out Nick and do people's currency flights for the year.  Then next year Nick can take over that role in the PT.

When I came home, I stopped at Culver's for a treat for everyone, and then took care of my usual Sunday stuff.  Laundry and paperwork and emails and logbook, and I updated my CAF "portal" as best I could with my currency flights, current medical and flight review info, etc.  It has one thing wrong, it says I'm just a pilot in the C-45, not an instructor, and I am an instructor, and it won't let me change that, so somebody will have to go in and take care of that.  Anyway, I did all those things.  I took most of the afternoon and got a lot caught up.

I took a lot of selfies today, so I sort of apologize for that, but I'm going to post them anyway.
