One of our students tested positive for Covid. He was with Jerry, who is 84, but Jerry's been vaccinated. He's staying home for two days and doing a test afterwards to be sure, per his doctor's recommendation, and then if he's all clear, he's good to come back out and play. In the last year, that's actually the first time that's happened. We've had students test positive, but not when they'd been around anyone in the "window". Haven't had any instructors be positive so far. Haven't had anyone actually get terribly ill even if they were positive, either. Good things. Ann's 2nd shot is tomorrow, so I'll be taking her in for that.
I slept in today, and slept all night, and it's the first solid night's sleep I've had in days, and it was NICE. I felt almost back to normal most of today. These all-nighters, I'm too old for that. ;)
I've learned this Twin Comanche doesn't have an autopilot, so I hope the new owner is good at hand flying, and doesn't expect me to hand fly it for him the whole way to Oklahoma like the last guy wanted me to do for him in the Mooney to Missouri. ;) It also doesn't have an intercom, so I need to see if I can find one, or if Steve can find one for me. It has a Garmin 430W, so it has navigation at least. Though these days, with iPads, it doesn't matter a whole lot unless one has to shoot an approach, and I hope not to do that in this plane. They also said it has a weird shut down procedure, that I've never heard of. You pull the mixtures to idle, then have to hit a button, then close the throttles, and it has a placard for it. I don't have a clue what that's about. Weird.
Not much else going on today.
