Ducks

They're starting to get in a row.

I caught up on all our laundry.  The washing machine is more than 25 years old, because we've been married for 25 years and it was here before I was.  And that thing still works.  But it has a smaller load capacity than anything you can get these days.  I washed our pillows too, and they don't really fit in there, but I did it anyway.  lol

My biggest project for the day was to go through my pile of paperwork on the side of the desk. That is where projects go to die.  It is also things I need to do, letters I need to write, bills I need to pay, checks I need to deposit, cards that loved ones send me, addresses I need to put in my book, thank you or tax write-off notes I need to send, doctor appointments I need to put on my calendar, test results I'm not sure where to file, that recipe for cinnamon roll cookies with cream cheese frosting that I HAVE to try to make some day, my copy of the NASA ASRS form I filed in 2019 that fortunately didn't end up being anything to worry about, business cards of people I haven't put into my phone yet or don't want to throw away, things that come in the mail or that I print off that I'm interested in looking more deeply in to, projects that I may or may not end up completing, those are all real, and you get the idea.  I did the things I could do, filed the things that needed filed, and my pile is almost completely gone.  I'm pretty proud of that actually.  ;)

My next biggest project for the day was to get ready for this upcoming trip.  That meant looking at the weather at stops all across the country here.  It SEEMS like I may have a marginal window Tuesday and Wednesday.  So I arranged for my ride Tuesday morning to Missouri. Let the owner know I was going to attempt it.  Cleaned off my schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday, which meant contacting four students.  Let MBros know I wouldn't be around (last time he had a trip I was in FL and couldn't, so thought I'd let him know ahead of time).  Let the other 340 fellow, Ethan, know I couldn't fly on Wednesday as we originally planned.  Got my bag back out to start the packing process.  Checked the weather some more, and the forecast.  There's another round of precip that may go through, but I should at least get a good head start on the weather if I can get out of here Tuesday early enough.  I also have to test fly that Bonanza for the first time since they replaced the fuel manifold, and see if nothing else breaks on it before I head it for the mountains.

It was also the day to reset all the clocks in the house.  The three in the kitchen are all prominent, and the oven and the microwave are right over the top of each other, so they have to match. They just do.  Sometimes I'll find the Keurig not keeping time, but I just fix it if it wanders off.  Why don't they make those automatically change like our cellphones and laptops, eh?  ;)

I cleaned out my purse, organized my inbox, took care of Ann's and my visa/banking stuff, and all in all got ready to be gone for a couple days.  I'm really hoping this goes smoothly this time, that I can spend a couple days, make progress, get there, deliver this plane, and get home, and be done and over with.  It's been stressful having this hanging over my head.  When I get back, I may or may not have an immediate trip to Oklahoma in another new to me airplane, a Twin Comanche, with a brand new multi pilot who just bought it here in Indianapolis, because a friend Larry J asked me if I could do it, because he doesn't have any "Twinkie" time, and this other guy is too new to fly the plane home himself.  So.  I'll see.  I took $100 off my normal day rate because it was a favor for Larry, but once I told the guy how much, he has never responded to me since. Larry says he hasn't heard from him in a couple days either, so, we'll see what's happening later. One thing at a time to deal with here.  ;)

Then I have a student with a checkride coming up that I need to prep her for, we have less than two weeks.  Tonight I'm going to go into her IACRA and see if she did it right.  She got right on it.

Then Saturday I'm supposed to give the all-day ground training for the C-45 to the CAF group which includes Jordan, and Nathan, who both know more about Twin Beeches than I ever will, which always makes me feel weird, but I'm going to do it anyway.

THEN I need to set up the Cheyenne currency, which I am months late on now.  I'll do that after this weekend.  Also stresses me out.

The T-6 is going to be ready to be test run hopefully next week.  That won't take long and won't be stressful, at least.  Or hopefully won't be stressful.  lol

Haven't heard from Kaylee in a couple days.  Ann is doing all right.  Steve is cutting and trimming the trees in the yard back before they get too green and hard to cut in Spring.  You know, stuff.  Roadie seems fine too.  Now you're all caught up on the life and times of Us.  And if I have ducks, they are starting to feel a little lined up, right before they all scatter and wander off randomly as one piece at a time likely falls apart.  ;)
