Monday

I need 13.5 hours in the next 16 days, and I'll break 600 hours this year.  Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but 1) It's late December in Indiana, and 2) It's coming up on Christmas.  Weather and life and schedules don't look promising.  I'm going to be annoyed to get to 594 or something.  ;)  We also don't have any airplanes up and running at Kokomo at the moment except for one C-172, the Cheyenne and the 340.  Aerostar is down with a bad strut.  RG has been down for a month with a gear issue (not THAT kind of gear issue), 180 has been down for months after a student ran it off the runway, Champ is down with a gear leg issue (some kind of slop in the gear legs that isn't good), 172 is down for 100 hour, T-6 is apart for annual, PT-26 is apart for annual, C-45 is off of insurance until Spring to save money and for maintenance.  So many airplanes, so much not happening.  That'll kill the ole coffers too.  Hey, let's not have anything that can earn money actually up and flying!  :p  Anyway, so my options to actually fly something before Dec. 31st are limited, and my student load is way down right now.  I need to get a couple of them out there.  Kaylee flies the Champ which is down, so that's out of luck, I can't even drag her out there.  ;)  I need a big trip, like to Texas and back, that would help.

I had one flight today in the 172, for just over an hour, doing x-country stuff, VOR tracking, hood work with someone.  It was cold, but at least the clouds broke up enough that we had sun in our face.  That helped.

Yesterday I placed an online order for Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart is the only place in town that has some of the specific things Ann likes, and Meijer and Kroger are just out of a lot of stuff still.  I placed the order for (free) pick up the next evening at 5-6 pm.  No problem, it said, as it took my credit card.  Got the confirm email.  All good. I also placed some of the frozen food items for Christmas, so it was a pretty decent sized order.  Today at 4:45 pm I finished my flight, and there was no email from them that my order was ready.  I sat around and waited to hear from them, at the airport.  At 5:20 I opened the app, and it said "Sorry, we had to cancel your order."  That's it.  No explanation why, no email, I wouldn't have known if I hadn't gotten into the app.  I was SO annoyed.  Since I had my shopping list on the phone there from their canceled order, I went to Wal-Mart in person, and picked up everything myself.  It took a really long time.  There was a lot of people there right after everyone else got off work and right before a major holiday.  It was a nightmare.  But I by George got what I needed at least.  I've got a few more things to get in another week or so, but for now we're in pretty decent shape.

Tomorrow's weather is nice and I have nobody on the schedule.  That's so wrong.
