Interesting

I'm going to try after today to not say it's hot, because it's supposed to stay this hot for at least the next 10 days, and who wants to read me complaining about being hot again?  Not even me.  But just so you know, it's HOT.  Mkay.

Kaylee's second day of training was completed today.  Next up she has to do a bunch of online "modules" training, and when she's done, contact them and they will schedule her for at least three days of on the job shadowing with another server.

Kaylee has a "Tik Tok" account.  She just posted a video on it that has gotten over 100 likes in under an hour, which is a lot for anything she's done.  Her next highest watched video got 34 likes total.  So she's feeling pleased with that tonight.  lol  And she says she doesn't care if China is spying on her through it.  I have Tik Tok too but it's never open and I never post.

I got a bit of a break today, because of the weather.  After lunch I had a nice hot flight in the pattern with a young lady who is about to get the whole landing thing down pretty quickly.  I sent her off to get her medical so she can solo soon.  The whole time we were flying I was watching the weather build up all around us.  There were cells behind us, to the side of us, and in front of us, and right at where we were it was totally clear.  By the time we ended, it was getting close though.  I warned my next person that it was iffy.  I warned the person after that who had a two hour drive to hang on.  And then the storm came through.  I lowered the hangar door of the Champ, the other trainers got put away, we lowered the big door on the big hangar, and left the side door and the maintenance hangar door open.  Well, we lost power.  Boom.  Now the gate is locked shut, the other hangars are locked shut, and our main hangars are locked open.  Not cool.  We canceled the rest of the flights for the day, and sat out at the airport for quite awhile hoping the power would come back up, only to learn that thousands of people, homes, businesses are without power in Kokomo.  Our home has power, but a BUNCH of places don't.  All the stoplights down 931 were out.  The stoplights down Washington St. were out.  We tried to eat at Texas Roadhouse but they had a two hour wait.  Went across the way to Grindstone Charley's and they had no power.  I wanted to go home, tired, Steve said Pastarrific looked open.  We go in and half the restaurant is without power, the other half has it.  So we sat in the bar where half of the bar had power.  It was weird.  Boulevard St. flooded and cars and such were under water.  It's a big mess out there.  As of now at 10 pm, power is still out most places.  Whenever it gets back up, whatever time of night, the airport manager will text us and I have to go back out to Kokomo, check the fuel in the 340 for a last minute morning flight to Ohio for a funeral, hope I have fuel in there, or see if the self serve pump is even working after the power outage, shut down all the hangars, get back home at whatever hour, and be ready to leave for Ohio by 7 am.  Ugh.

Welp, now I have to warn my morning student I'm probably not going to be able to fly, ask MBros if I can use their plane at 10 pm, try to figure out if I can get back in time for my 1:45 pm appointment or not, etc.  *sigh*
