It was a day of students, and stores, and stuff.

Kaylee drove up to Lake Michigan with some friends and spent the day up there.  So far I asked "Did you have fun?" and got a "Yep!" with no details.  So I assume she had fun.  lol

This evening I had several airplanes to pull out for a young man's Senior Photos.  It happens to be Liam Kelly, grandson of Steve's cousin Mary Dawn & Dave Hughes.  :)  So I pulled out the Champ and taxied it over to the other end of the hangar row.  Walked back, pulled out the 340 and put it in front of Bob's hangar, pulled out the Cheyenne and put it in between our two big hangars, pulled out the T-6 and tugged it over to a big grassy area at the end of the hangar row too.  They did their photos as the weather moved in and by, and sort of lost their good evening light, but got some good photos done.  While they finished up on the Champ, I sat on the wing of the T-6, and the photographer looked over and said "Hey, that looks really good.  You're my inspiration."  And did a few more from the position I was in.  :)

When they were done, I taxied the Champ back to its hangar, then went into the big hangar and got my helmet, and hiked back to the T-6.  There was nasty weather right off the end of the airport runway, but it was clear to the south.  The winds shifted around the opposite way, from the bad weather, so I taxied halfway down Runway 5 and turned around to take off into the wind.  There was a rainbow right over the VOR, and the sun was breaking through in spots.  It was just beautiful.  I stopped to take some pictures, of course.  When I took off, I could feel the turbulent weather, so I headed south, flew over Glenndale, and saw some golf carts sitting out down there.

I climbed up to 5500' and did three rolls, and three loops.  Came down and went back to the airport where the storm had mostly moved past, and did two 3-point and one wheel landing, and called it an evening.  Good practice.  Beautiful sunset while I was at it.  If I could have stayed up another 30 minutes it would have been even better, but...it was time to come in.  It gets dark so late out here.  I went home at 9:30 and it was still light.  Craziness.

So here are the full set of photos from today.  Anytime you put more than about one picture up on FB, they get lost.  My posts always do better if I just have one photo.  But it was too pretty out to just post one, so I had to do it anyway...but here at least I can stick them all without consequence.

The sun broke out and I'm sitting in a grassy area getting ready to go

Leaving the bad weather behind me.

Just the sky

You know, the Garmin 530W does not like loops.  It'll be okay on rolls, but every time I loop, it comes up with this error message.  I can't even figure out what that has to do with anything.  But there it is anyway.

Just enjoying the sky

Turning Base Runway 23 OKK, kind of wide so I could get the shot.

Parked and getting ready to put everything away.
