My only "problem" is that I keep waking up too early. When the sun rises early, it comes in our room, even with the blinds shut, and it wakes me up. I could get a black-out shade, but...I like the sunlight coming in, even if I wish it didn't do it until after maybe 7:30 am. So I've been awake at 6 am the last few days. I'm going to take a Zyrtec tonight because 1) my allergies are annoying me again and 2) it zonks me out hard. I won't be flying tomorrow, both because it's Sunday and because it's going to be icky out, and you're not supposed to take Zyrtec and fly afterwards. So that'll work out, and I'm betting I sleep in around 9 am that way too, which will feel good.
My 9 am tailwheel flight did go ahead and happen. I was a little worried because the airplane had sat in the hangar in below freezing temps overnight, and had no heater on it. I went out early this morning to find a heater to put on it, and couldn't find one. Meanwhile the winds were around 17 knots, a crosswind of course, but that's at least not a "no go". It was his second flight so it's a bit much for that, but it was good practice too. Now, next time we need calmer winds. But anyway. It was COLD. I wore a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and jacket, and still had to wear gloves. The back seat of the Champ is very drafty, and gets none of the little amount of cabin heat from the front. I was freezing. My feet were freezing, I had cold air blowing on my face the whole time. Freezing. But we flew for about 2 hours before he was worn out for the day. When someone drives from Michigan to fly, you take advantage of the time you have.
It was too windy to call up my other, problem student, and I was cold and tired anyway. I later realized I hadn't had any caffeine. ;) I stopped at CVS to pick up some coffee pods, and then came home, had my chicken stir-fry from Texas, and some coffee, and tried to take a nap but couldn't pull it off.
I talked to Jordan, and we will be flying his C-45 on Tuesday. Woo hoo! Now the weather better hold off. I hope it's not another 35 knot day. So far the forecast is good, at least. Stay that way. I need to get this done. And I want to, too. :)
Steve had a "hankering" for Outback, so I just ordered that for tonight. I may save mine for tomorrow, actually. It's going to be nasty weather, and we're not going anywhere, and it'll be nice to have a steak tomorrow, I think. Kaylee is in there concocting something, but I'm not sure what. She seems to be doing a little better. Maybe it's because school is over with, and partly it's because she visits with two of her friends more now. She's still down a bit overall, but...getting there I think. He worked out at Kokomo most of the day, I was just there from 9-12.
From there I did my 40th day of Spanish, and my exercise, and ran the dishes, and read a book. I learned that the TBM Avenger Gathering will be in Terre Haute this year, because "The Governor of Illinois has revealed his 5 step plan to NEVER OPEN THE STATE" as he put it. July 24-25th will be the day that happens, and I look forward to that, because I plan on going and doing rides. And it's almost half the distance away, too, which will save me time and money and weather concerns. It's nice to have fun things to look forward to again.
