Good Friday

It really doesn't feel like Good Friday, or Easter, and as of today, Spring, either.

Steve sprayed weeds in the driveway outside.  It was colder today, but there was sun off and on, and that helped.  We don't have an operating furnace, but we have enough space heaters that we're not doing bad at all.  The house is keeping its temp okay.  He has ordered a part to try to fix it himself.  In the meantime, like I said, even though the temps are low and we have snow in the forecast again (Bah), we're doing fine.

This morning I drove out to MBros and picked up a check from them for the 340's annual.  This was a really expensive annual, because they found corrosion behind a fuel tank and had to take care of it before it became a real problem.  They also fixed my electric trim, so I again have that working in the plane for the first time in 3-4 years.  That's nice.

Kaylee slept in until I woke her up at 11, and then slooowly got ready so that the three of us could drive to Kokomo and take the 172RG up to Defiance, Ohio, where the 340 is.  Kaylee did her usual job of selecting the appropriate tunes for the trip.  When she found out there is no working tunes in the 340, she went home in the RG with Steve instead.  I completely understand.  ;)

It took us about 45 min to get there, and it took me about 30 minutes to get home.  And that was what we did today.  One flight to pick up the 340 and bring it home.  Exciting, huh?

I left the check there, and a guy across the way waved at me and gave me the blessing to take the plane.  I did a good preflight and a longer run-up to warm it up, and all looked good.  As always, it felt nice to be up and cruising with the hum of the engines.

I passed Steve and Kaylee, about 1500' below them, right over Ft. Wayne.  I landed and got the 340 put away, then waited for them to land and get the RG put away and come get me.

Kaylee made Steve a peanut butter banana chocolate smoothie, which he enjoyed.  I had a salad for dinner, a Panera one with good chicken, strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pecans, and mango with a fat free poppyseed dressing.  My favorite salad there, not available in the late fall/winter.

And that is the full measure of excitement in our household today.  ;)
