The cats started getting eaten up with fleas again. We can't figure out how or why. We've bombed the deck repeatedly. I kept a high dollar flea collar recommended by the vet on them. I added in liquid flea repellent every two weeks because the collar didn't seem to work. The fleas keep coming back every two weeks (the liquid stuff is supposed to last a month). I don't know WHAT is going on with these things. Do we have nuclear fleas? They won't DIE and they keep coming back! It's February. Why do we have fleas out there? *sigh*
Kaylee called me just to tell me that she was writing a 5 page Psych paper, and she decided to make it a little humorous, and her friend Meredith pointed out that she has the humor of a 40 year old woman--aka me. Kaylee read a couple of examples, and said "SEE, who says that but a middle aged woman??" I told her it's not my fault she has a more mature sense of humor and writing capability than most other 19 year olds. ;)
I was able to get one flight in today, with the minimum legal ceilings to stay in the pattern. It had been 3 weeks since the poor guy last got to go fly, so we went for almost 2 hours, which is a lot in the pattern. This weather...
Roadie started not eating again. So after two days I took tuna out, and she lapped that up. Today I mixed part tuna and part food she wasn't eating. She ate all that, too. Dulcie is walking funny and doesn't like her hind quarters touched and has a super fast heart rate, and Roadie is flea chewed up, skinny, and has a kidney condition. So I don't know how long the cats will be around, could be years, could be not. We just want them to be comfortable.
Next week I just got asked to take a trip to West Virginia. Trips where I actually get paid are good ones to make happen. The only problem is that the day before is my surgery. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be up to taking a trip the next day. *sigh*
Even though I'm only down 8 pounds, I feel better. I'm now in a different BMI category at least, and I can feel the difference even if it's not visible to anybody else yet. I just feel less...icky, or puffy. Much better. I scheduled my annual physical and blood work, and I think if I do this, it'll be the first time I've done an annual physical annually...ever. I usually do one about every 3-8 years. :D But I do like to keep up on my blood work numbers now. The rest I don't care so much about. I expect the numbers to still be good, but it's good to verify...
