Brrr

Welcome to Winter.  High winds, cold temps, gray skies.  It's been icky.  Tomorrow will be too.  It sucks the motivation right out of you to do much of anything.  I had a lady who wanted to do tailwheel flying, and when she couldn't do it on a 20 degree day because her water heater broke, I was relieved.

I still had a guy in the 172, and that's better--at least the plane itself gets and stays warm, unlike the Champs.  We had gusty winds and worked on crosswinds, I had him set up and see a tailwind, we did go-arounds, and I worked him out pretty hard.  When he landed, he said he was almost too tired to drive home.  I'm good at wearing people out.  ;)

Kaylee came home for the weekend.  She just pulled in the driveway, has a 3-day weekend because of MLK Jr. Day.   It's good to have her home briefly.  :)

Today was Gwenie's 18th birthday, so several of us met up at Don Pancho's for dinner.  I ate too much, and two hours later I'm still full.  But boy that was an excellent DQ ice cream cake...

I don't have plans for tomorrow, and Monday is a Cheyenne trip with the Purdue basketball coach, and Tuesday is two trips to S. Illinois and one trip to Kentucky.  So I'll get back with you then.  Until then, stay warm and dry out there.

The picture is of my student on final with a good stiff crosswind.  You can see the nose is pointed to the right and we've still been blown left.  Good practice.
