Yesterday I went down for the day. My sinuses were messed up, and my head was killing me. I thought I had come down with a hard cold or bad virus, felt like crud. I ended up having to take big medicine, and then by the end of the day it started easing up. Today I still have a runny/stuffy nose and a cough, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. So I don't know what that is. Allergies that went on the attack? A light cold exacerbated by allergies and a headache? I don't know, but boy, that wasn't a good day. I canceled my morning student for obvious reasons, and told the school board meeting I wasn't going to make that either (again). I took some Nyquil and went to bed, and this morning we had to get up early for the cleaning people. I didn't feel so great first thing in the morning, but we went out to Glenndale, then out to Kokomo. My 10 am flight was canceled because the clouds were still IFR. Kaylee had to leave the house too because of the cleaners, so she went to Starbucks. I jokingly said "You could bring me one at the airport", because she was ready to leave Starbucks but couldn't go home yet. She actually did it. She brought me an eggnog latte and hung out with us at the airport, then went to lunch with us at Grindstone's. So that was fun. :)
From there Kaylee went to Marion to meet with Meredith at IWU. Kaylee has learned who her roommate will be next semester, and she's excited. The roommate texted me first, saying something like "Hi, my name is Ansley, and I think we're roommates this semester". I told her I was the mom, and gave her Kaylee's number. Come to find out, Ansley is the cousin of one of Kaylee's best friends, Caitlyn. And she's a Christian Ministries major, which is basically missionary training, which Kaylee loves, and her minor is theater. Come to find out, she played in Beauty and the Beast, a play which Kaylee went to go see, and didn't know her. They were paired up using an algorithm. I'd say it worked--so Kaylee's excited, thinks she has about the perfect roommate for her; that's great!
I had two flights today that I did go ahead and do. The first was just going around the pattern a couple times with a kid before I soloed him. I took videos and photos and airdropped them to him. My next flight was the night takeoffs and landings. He had a great time too, loved the night flying and the no lights stuff. I was done after that, and "done", too. Came home and grabbed a bowl of cereal for dinner and candy bar for dessert.
I think I told you I got a new phone. We ordered Kaylee one, as she's the one who needed it most. Hers never has arrived. Today I talked to Verizon, and they said it was sent back to them and they'd send it back to us via UPS. Steve was supposed to get an email from them with details. He got no email. We realized that our phones always come Fed Ex, not UPS. My phone ordered on the same day came via Fed Ex. I don't know what is going on here, but these folks need to get their act together. My phone is an iPhone 11, red, I have a clear case on it and I like it. It has some differences from my old 7, but it has a better camera too, and that makes me happy. Now we just need to get Kaylee's here.
Tomorrow Ann gets some spots removed from her face, so I'm sure she could use the prayers. Tomorrow I also get my flight medical renewed. Even when you know there's nothing wrong with you, it sometimes makes me uneasy to go for these medicals, because you're one bad medical away from being done. Of course there's nothing wrong with me yet so I'm not actually worried...yet.
