Frosty Tuesday

We wake up each morning to a freeze warning now.  This does not make me happy.  :(

Kaylee slept in and didn't do much of a darned thing today.  Steve and I went to lunch, and then did a big thing.  I closed down the SMA Support bank account, and transferred all the money over to my new account.  No more getting eaten alive with user fees on a charity bank account.  I thought it would be a lot more painful of an experience than it was.  Steve moved the Flying Squirrels account at the same time I moved the SMA account.  So it took a little time, but almost no pain.  It's a big thing to get done, took a long time to finalize once we knew we needed to do it, so it's good to get it taken care of.  I've felt relieved about what we've gotten done these last few days.  It really is silly to procrastinate on stuff sometimes, it's rarely as hard as expected and it's always good to get it out of the way...

Had a flight lesson recently with someone just struggling to remember the procedures in the pattern even after 20 some hours.  Usually people can struggle with the actual landing after that long still, but just going around the pattern and remembering what to do when and controlling it all the way around, it's not 'average' to take this long.  But that doesn't mean they can't get it, either.  But he gets frustrated, and he's got a lot more frustration to come when we actually go to land the airplane.  He wants to be a corporate pilot, so hopefully we can break through here soon.

Someone's company donated a check to SMA Support for the Bash, and just got it to me today.  One of their requirements was that I have my photo taken holding up the check, to be sent to the company.  I'm grateful for the $200, find the picture a little odd, but I did it.

Low and bright

I haven't seen a more poetic and true way to express that feeling than this.
