I am pretty sure Kaylee doesn't know that I am barely doing this for her, and wouldn't for anybody else, but since she is a "Senior Class Officer", Eastern tradition has it that the parents of the Senior Class Officers organize and put on a "Senior Spring Fling". This isn't just a party, it's a big deal. Like a really big deal. There are only four of us on this committee. There's a chairperson, a food person, an activities person and a fundraising person. A caterer wanted the food job, a woman who fundraises for Ivy Tech wanted the fundraising job. The woman who has done this for now the third time is the Chairperson in charge of it. That leaves me with the Activities and Chaperones department. I have to come up with games, hire a DJ, set up a photo booth, basically all the activities the kids do for this big deal party, is my responsibility. Because I'M SO GOOD AT THAT. And then, best of all, Steve and I have to be there, and we have to chaperone, and I am in charge of getting other chaperones there and organized. Because I know so many other (zero) parents. From 10 pm to 2 am. Have to be there the whole time, in charge of activities, keeping them running, and chaperones. This Spring Fling is on Graduation Sunday, June 2nd. You're all going to have to pardon me while I head to Soupleys, and maybe just stay there.
Speaking of parties, here are just a few photos of Sharon & Clarence's 50th Anniversary party, to get a general idea of the lovely decorations. :)
The printed itinerary, gold plates, etc.
The chairs were covered in white cloths with gold ties
