Packed Up!

Well, my main bag is packed, my carry-on bag is packed, and my "purse" (another bag, actually) is packed.  I have a few things I'll have to throw in tomorrow after I use them, like contacts/glasses stuff, but I think I got it.  I even brought along a wireless keyboard to go with my iPad, and if I get a chance I'll update my blog at times during the trip.  I'm also bringing my good digital camera.  Not my zoom lens, which I will miss, but it's big and heavy, so I'll stick with my normal lens and really hope I don't do anything to lose or damage my sweet new camera.

I've got my passport in my leather wallet that Mom and Ernie got for me, along with driver's license, two credit cards, cash, and medical insurance card.  I decided I didn't need to bring along my pilot's license.  ;)

I've got chargers, adapters and converters.

I cleaned up my closet, painted my fingernails, whitened my teeth, cleaned up the kitchen, threw away old stained t-shirts I'd never wear again, went to three stores, hit an ATM to make sure I remembered my PIN before going to the UK and needing to get their currency and finding out I can't, and all in all had a rather productive day.

I'm actually getting excited now.  Up to now I was just putting it aside, like it wasn't actually happening, and I had stuff I needed to prepare to do and it seemed a little overwhelming.  But now that I'm down to sweat pants and glasses to pack, and I think I feel like I have it under control, I'm starting to get excited.  My first trip off of the continental U.S., at the age of 46.  :)

Kaylee's excited too.  Steve misses us and we're not even gone yet.  It would be nice if he could go along too!

Well, I'll try to take lots of pictures, and write up what I can!
