Kay Jo and Laura Kay

Sunday I finally felt like myself again, which let me know that Saturday I really was still "off".  So I was glad to have Sunday to mostly rest.  Kaylee had her youth group, and drove me out there in the fog.  That was good practice for her too.  She's gotten a little fog, a little snow and ice...all good stuff to practice on.

Steve called the driver's ed place, and basically she has two choices now that she's turning 17.  She can walk into the BMV and take the test and hope for the best.  Or she can finish the online course and take 6 hours of drive time with the driver's ed place, at which time her instructor there will give her the driving test at some point there, and she'll never have to go into the BMV.  She'll be trained for the test and then given the test by the guy training her.  And we'd get an insurance discount.  That sounds like the nice way to go, except...the whole online training course with a bunch of quizzes and tests that will take a lot of time.  But if you walk in the BMV and just go in cold, chances are good of not passing the first time, too, and no insurance discount.  So we'll see.

My morning was a little less than perfect.  I had the "redo" on the mammogram.  This time she really cranked it down hard, and it was quite painful.  Before it was just uncomfortable, but this time I couldn't hardly breathe in, and I was gritting my teeth.  She ended up doing three angles, and having to redo at least two of them for one reason or another, and by the time she was done, I found myself really sore.  Like...ow.  Twelve hours later I'm still a little sore.  If I didn't have damage before, I do now!  :p  So then I sit and wait for awhile in this hot room (they were having trouble with their heater, and their machine kept overheating too, and they were booked up and backed up).  So as I wait, the radiologist elsewhere looked over my new scans right then and there, and said he wanted to see an ultrasound on that spot.  So I had to wait--topless with a paper thing over me--in the secondary waiting room with other topless--with paper things over them--women for the ultrasound room to open up.  That opens, a woman comes in and pushes around an ultrasound wand all over, also pushing pretty hard, taking photos, taking her time.  She hands me a rag to clean up the gel from that, and I sit there for 20 more minutes.  The radiologist says he needs to see for himself, so now HE comes in and I'm back on the table and he's doing another ultrasound himself.  Finally I get another towel and to cover myself back up and pretend like there's dignity here, and he says that what he's seeing is inconclusive and he just can't be sure.  He says that there's definitely nothing "ugly" there yet, so if what he's seeing is "something", it's just starting out.  It could be dense tissue, or a cyst, or more, but right now it's just inconclusive, so he wants me to come back in six months and get more scans done to see if there are any changes to it.  If not, he'll have me come back in another six months to check again.  If not then either, then it is likely nothing and I can go back to annual scans.  It took a couple hours, all while not being allowed to wear deodorant since the day before, and in hot rooms, while dealing with medical personnel while feeling in a compromised position, which is NOT my strong suit.  But I survived.  ;)  I'm still not really worried about this.  It'll be fine, it's probably nothing anyway.  Steve and I were joking about if it WAS something, and I lost my hair, about pulling off my helmet in the T-6 and then throwing on a wig before getting out, because I would look ridiculous bald with this tiny little head on a not tiny body.  I know, it probably seems wrong to joke about that, but, 1) I really don't think it's anything and 2) if it is, we'll deal with it.

Kaylee would like to bring brownies to school, so here at midnight I'm still waiting for the last batch to cool.  Last time I made a big batch of brownies I couldn't get the things to cook!  This time I have three pans that turned out great, and one pan that's questionable.  Fortunately she only needs the three pans worth, so I'm guessing we may have a pan of under-done brownies that won't cook to eat at home ourselves.  ;)

Steve and I ate at Bob Evans for dinner, a place we haven't been to in ages and ages.  They have "hot chocolate bread" now.  So I bought a loaf to bring home and try out.  I'm too full to try it yet, but tomorrow...tomorrow it will be mine.

It's after midnight, so Kaylee is officially 17 years old.  Well, it's her day, anyway.  One more year and she's a legal adult!  Graduating from high school!  Weird weird weird...

Can you read that?  Click on it and blow it up.  All I can say is...yeah, right.
