Next

Kaylee still didn't have anything to do this morning for her first period as teacher's aide with the special needs kids--they took them all out of the room to do something and she was just left there, so she went to another classroom and helped another teacher.  When she got back, the other class was back and she said she'd been helping another teacher, and they were fine with that.  So tomorrow she's going to officially ask if she can float and help other teachers as needed rather than just sit there and not be helpful.

She didn't do so hot on a pre-calc quiz today.  So she's trying to figure out what went wrong early on here so she doesn't get behind on it.  I got big eyes and said "Don't get behind, it just gets waaaay worse from there!"  She'll get it though.  :)

Her Encore class picked quartets today, and she was picked to be in a really good quartet, so she's excited about that.   Next Monday they have their first after school practice, and she's excited about THAT, too.  She found out from a former singer/officer that she scored the highest out of all the Starlets on her audition piece, and in the top ten auditions from everyone there, including the people who were already in Encore.  So she was pretty pleased with that.

I soloed a girl today.  She's not as consistent nor pretty as I like them to be, but she was safe, so I let her go, and she was shaking when she got down.  In a good way,  just super excited and exhilarated and stuff.  That's always fun.

I did a flight review after lunch, picked up Kaylee, stopped at the store for some stuff for Ann, and ran Kaylee and the groceries home, and then went out to Kokomo where I flew Jesse's Cub.  It goes back in the morning, and the other Cub is going to be down for an annual for a good while, so it seemed like the right opportunity to get some more Cub time in.  His is twitchier to land than the others I've flown, for some reason, and the 3-point on concrete is just not as smooth as I'd like.  So I messed with that for awhile.  Then I sent a "Nanny nanny boo boo" post to a guy who texted me that he missed his plane and getting to go fly.  He was on his way out to the airport, so I offered to land and let him hop up front if he wanted.  He wanted.  He barely got in there, so that was worth it right there.  I did a couple of spins with him.  He'd been wanting to do spins but we don't have anything in which to do them.  The Cub spins great with a butt in the front seat.  He videotaped the last one I did.  I didn't let it go as far as the first one because I was starting off a little lower, but he still got a little of the spin action on there.  I'll see if I can attach that.

After the Cub, I came home and caught up on unpacking, dishes, just some good old house work that needs done, and I'm way behind on email again and need to dive into that if I can do it before I get too tired...

I'm really coming to like these little buggers.

That doesn't look like my happy face, and yet it is.  ;)

A little round and round.  :)
