Thursday

I'm trying to figure out what day it is and what I did today.  Heh.

From the Expo: one guy posted on FB his story of his being my last flight of the day, what all we did, how excited he was and that I signed his logbook, etc., and it was neat that he did that.  That last flight was hard for me because I was SO tired, so it was neat to read how much it meant to him.  And know that I pulled it off and didn't act as tired as I felt.  :)

Walt, the owner of the other T-6, gave me a shirt that says "I flew with the Pollack".  Quite politically incorrect, but he's Polish and proud of it, and the shirt has his T-6 on it with that saying.  It's a bit small for me but I may wear it anyway, because I like it.   He is asking if I'd be able to take his plane up to Oshkosh this year and use it as a photo mission ship for whatever they want to take pictures of up there this year.  I'd be taking the photographer up and home with me in it.  We'd have to work out some logistics, like how to get everyone else up there and what about a transport plane to go back and forth.  It also means there will be butt crack of dawn morning flights, and some higher stress ones depending on what kind of formation flying and types of planes I'd be doing.  And saying to every pilot "No I don't have a FAST card but it'll be fine" and having them be suspicious until after it's over, as all the others have been. :)  But...I'll do it.  It's good experience and good practice and can be fun and a good way to meet people.  If I must meet people.  :)

Kaylee felt too warm yesterday and couldn't stop sneezing, couldn't breathe.  We were all a little worried about her because she can NOT get sick right now,  not right before camp.  Fortunately today she feels a lot better, and whew.  She has one more day here of gym, and then she's done with that.

I think I caught up on my logbook today, but I'm not totally sure.  If I've missed something though, I've just missed it.  It's been so busy that it's hard to track what you did with whom and when and for how long.  Today ended up being busy too.  I flew about 6.0 on the hobbs today, which started at 10 am, and finished around 8 pm.  The last flight of the day needed to be for 2.2 hours straight to finish up a guy who is trying to get into the Air Force to be a pilot, and needed to have 11 hours of flight time prior to submitting his 'package' to them.  Weather and life had him 2.2 short, so we did it all tonight, except we ended up being up for 2.7 hours in one swoop.  I was really tired of sitting by the end of that one. It was particularly hot and muggy today, and I'm worn out from that more than anything.  In the last 30 days I have flown 117.1 hours.  That's a lot in case you're wondering.
