All is quiet in the house, except for the sound of the washer and dryer. It's kind of nice!
Kaylee left for Chicago this morning with A and her family, and even though she had to get up kind of early, she was chatty and ready to go by the time I left the house at 8:30. I kept telling her to take pictures, because she does these various things and "forgets" to take pictures. I harassed her about it. "Take pictures!" "Don't forget to take pictures!' So this afternoon she sent me, via text, 18 photos she took on her cell phone of them up in the whatever building that used to be the Sears Tower, up on the observation deck. The photos are really neat, too, and I'm going to spend some time tonight trying to get them off my phone so I can post a few of them. I sent her a text back saying "THANK you! About time!" :)
I flew in the RG this morning, and I now officially have two hours of total flight time in 2015. Isn't that exciting? ;) He did really well, so we started having some fun. I know that various stalls and practice emergencies make for a weird version of "fun" to some people, but it works for me. Next up will be a few more engine outs and a manual gear extension. A complex endorsement is probably closer than he thinks. One thing that I threatened him with that has made an impression--I told him that the airplane belongs to Nathan, and whomever lands it gear up gets to tell him so themselves. Nobody seems to want to have to do that for some reason. Heh.
It's definitely easier staying on track on fitness/nutrition goals when you're in a routine. The days I'm too busy to eat normally, or sitting at home all day, those days are harder, and when they come consecutively, like holiday vacations, it's easy to get sidelined. I'm finding it harder to get back "on" when I take a few days off, and I know it's because I already feel better, so some of the urgency is gone. That and once you have extra food and sugar, you crave even more food and sugar, at least I do. But I'm still on track here. Less than 2 pounds to Initial Goal, which I wanted by the end of January, which should be perfectly doable. :) I started watching a Netflix series, and figured I'd watch one a day, when I have time, and walk on the treadmill while I'm watching. That also pushes me from the 35-45 minutes I used to walk when I watched other things, to about 56 minutes. I had to dial down the speed a little the first time, but I'm building back up pretty quickly. Hoping to be in fairly good shape by Spring, so that when Spring hits, I can focus on other things and just maintain.
It was a really pretty day for January. This weekend it's supposed to go downhill, so I hope everyone enjoyed getting out and about as much as they could today. Now, to see if I can get Kaylee's photos downloaded...
Oh, the quote for today that was in my inbox:
