Randomly

Hmm, I don't feel myself today.  Runny eyes and just a little "off".  I think it's an allergy thing, especially because of the itchy runny eyes, but I guess we'll see.

When it's this cold out, I've lost enough weight that my rings are loose enough on my fingers that they keep spinning backwards.  This is annoying.  ;)

Kaylee went to see "The Penguins of Madagascar" with a friend, G, today.  I took them in and got the tickets then left them to watch the movie themselves while I went off to do other things, and afterwards I picked them up, we went to Starbucks and got a drink before heading over to Applebees to have an early dinner.  The girls had a good time I think, it's nice to have something relaxing and enjoyable to do on a cold Sunday afternoon.

I looked up food at Applebees, and it's BAD.  Most everything in there is over 1000 calories, including the salads. All the salads except for the one I got today.  At normal places a hamburger is 350-800 calories.  Not there.   We used to eat lunch there every day--I looked up the salad and sandwich I'd get most days, and even though it had a lot of vegetables in there, they must sprinkle fat on it, because it is 1000-1300 calories for half a salad and half a sandwich.  That's about the total number of calories I eat a day right now, in one small meal.  Unreal.  Anyway, so they have lately come out with some lower calorie options, and it's a good thing, 'cause good grief, even Olive Garden isn't that bad on every meal.  The Thai Shrimp Salad with Peanut sauce was pretty good, and it was filling, and at only 380 calories it was actually reasonable.  So, note to others, if you're trying to watch calories, Applebees isn't the place to do it unless you're willing to eat a very limited number of new items.

By the time the kids' movie was done, it was snowing, and it was snowing and blowing pretty good.  By the time we left Applebees, the roads were getting really slick.  Visibilities were bad, and by the time I dropped off G and headed home, people were sliding through stop signs, into intersections, and I had one person throw their car in reverse right in front of me to try to stop.  They didn't hit me or anybody else, so I guess it worked out.  But it's really getting slick and unpleasant out there.  Kaylee's church group was canceled for tonight due to weather, and we are currently under a "Winter Storm Watch".  The real fun is supposed to start tomorrow night when we're supposed to get some real snow, 4-7" of it.  *sigh*  It IS January, so I suppose we're due for some snow, like it or not.  And of course that, for me, would be a "not".

Here are a few more photos of Kaylee.  Her winter school break she did get to visit with her family, including cousins and Grandparents, she got to spend the night in a hotel with a friend in a hotel and have a swim party in the winter, she got to go to Chicago and visit Chinatown, the Sears Tower, and a few other things with another friend, and she got to go see a movie, hang out a little bit and relax with another friend she doesn't get to see as often.  And she still has one more day before she has to go back to school, so she has time to clean her room and write a few thank you notes.  ;)  She even had a few days to do nothing but sit at the counter and watch "Bones" episodes.  I think she had a good break. and she has good people for friends, and that all makes me happy.  :)

Another Chicago photo--I still think that's fun up there.  :)
