Plans

This is Kaylee with her friend Grace at the dance last night. A whole group of them went together and had a great time. A different friend spent the night with us. I do wish I had a photo of them, a full photo of Kaylee's dress, etc. Next time they won't get away without a photo whether they like it or not. ;) The lady who took this one, her phone's camera is kind of weak, but you can at least get the general idea. Our girl looked...beautiful. *sniff*

Steve and I were both supposed to fly all day.  Neither Steve nor I flew at all today.  The weather just wouldn't let up.  So instead we probably get to do it tomorrow.  Not what I had in mind, since I have early trips Monday and Tuesday both, but you gets what you gets.  :)  Instead, I took Kaylee over to a Taekwondo practice.  She said the main guy "beat up on her".  She didn't say it in a bad way, she wasn't whining, just laughed and pointed out her red arm and said he kept whapping her in the same spot.  I told her it was kind of a good thing, because the better you get, the harder you have to work, and the more you're going to have to deal with.  Nathan said they often do that too in order to see how you handle getting "poked" in the same spot over and over.  Will you lose it, get mad, whine, quit, deal with it, etc. when it starts to hurt or get annoying.  She ended up breaking two boards today in practice too, and I'm glad they did that with her because she hadn't had any practice at that before the last time, and I was nervous about it.  I can just picture her being the one who gets up there and can't do it, you know?  That happens.  I'd hate that.

I was doing a bunch of laundry when Kaylee kept following me around, and saying "It's cuddle time".  The only problem with cuddle time is that she falls asleep on me and then there's nothing else that can happen for a good hour or two.  That happened today too.  She passed out on me in the chair.  I had no TV remote, no iPad handy, nothing to read or watch or do, so I just went ahead and took a nap too.  ;)  After an hour I woke up and started snapping pictures of her with my phone, after I moved her enough to be able to reach it, and that sort of woke her up.  She says she's been tired ever since Fall Break ended.  As in, tired all the time.  She goes to sleep earlier, usually, she slept in today and then took a nap, and she's still tired.  I wonder if she's either fighting off a bug, or about to hit a growth spurt or something.  Except I just looked up growth spurts, and the internet says girls grow the most between 12-13, and usually only gain another inch or two and are done growing by 14-15.   Kaylee'll be 14 in another month here, and she's only 5' 2".   She wants to be taller, but she may not get a lot taller.  I don't think I'll tell her that.  Besides, it's the internet, what does it know.  Anyway, here are pictures of her sleeping on me this afternoon.  She looks like she's about 18 years old in the picture at the dance, and she looks like she's about 8 years old in this one.  Part child, part young woman.

Steve felt much better today, with his sinuses. Not sure why they are all of a sudden getting bad more often than they used to, but it's no fun for him, as it causes bad  headaches and makes it so he can't fly or do much of anything else.  No good...

I ordered a Christmas present early.  For me, December IS early.  It's not a big one, but at least it is one.  We are once again not going to get our tree until about two weeks before Christmas, if then.  We always end up getting it the same day as the Wild's Christmas party, and that always makes for a long day.  I wanted to get one early this year, but we've had trouble with trying to get the flying in that we needed to, so today was the day to fly since we couldn't all week...we'll get a tree and get it done one way or another, we always do.  :)
