My business flights have been down for the last month, and I had just mentioned that, when I received two emails with four trips. Naturally one of them is Saturday when we have fly-ins and rides and things, and the other is Monday at 7 a.m. when Steve is out of town and I'm supposed to drive Kaylee to Greentown by 7:45 a.m. for a meeting of the drama club at her school before school starts. I can work around this Saturday, I'll just miss out on some fun, but Monday morning is harder, and they said they can't push back to 8. Not sure what I'll do there yet. He also wants to put four of them in there with me. It's always a struggle on the weight issue, it's always being pushed. I will be glad if/when the Cheyenne becomes an option.
Today I went up with a young lady on her first flight lesson. Those are always both a lot of work and a lot of fun. This morning early I was supposed to fly the T-6 over to Muncie for a VFR pitot-static check (or whatever it's officially called), and it rained like cats and dogs all day until after lunch, so I had to reschedule. I am supposed to get it done before the end of the month, but that may be a little tricky too. I'll work on it. :)
Kaylee came home from school excited that if we bought 8 fundraising things from her, between today and tomorrow, she could win a set of ear buds. Buying 8 fundraising things from her would have cost over $120. I told her I'd buy her a set of ear buds. Even Apple's expensive ones are only like $30. The fundraiser is mostly for her band and the Marching Band of which she is not a participant. She is, unfortunately, sort of out of luck. She still wants to sell 8 items total so that her class can have a pizza party. I told her not to hold her breath and that I'd buy her a pizza for dinner one night too, but it's not the same. ;) If anyone wants to buy anything towards her, here's how:
Go to www.centuryresources.com. Hit the "Shop Now" button. Her Group ID is 5642, enter that and a link will come up underneath it that says "Eastern Jr/Sr Bands". Click on that, the info will come up, and under the info it will have a place to put Kaylee's name, and she's in 8th grade. Select "Save Student information and shop", and then you can see if there's something in there that looks good...if not, don't feel obligated, I already told her that the odds of everyone in her class getting 8 items to have a pizza party are probably pretty slim, and she's only got 4 so far herself!
Tonight after school Kaylee had a first meeting for Student Council. I never did get good info out of her on how it works, just that there's a once a month commitment for meetings, and that they do stuff towards the school dances and such. I'm not sure if there are elections or what, but student council doesn't seem like a terrible plan to get into.
After her meeting she had a couple of hours and then she had tennis practice until 7 p.m. Busy kid, busy life. It'll be hard when Steve is gone now that Kaylee has all these activities and I still need to be able to do flights. Steve's mom and dad are going to help out, thankfully. :)
