Yes, it's still cold.
I started watching a series called "The Walking Dead", and yes, I know. A lot of my friends watch it, and finally I decided to watch the first show to see what it was, and I was interested in what happened, so I kept watching. I'm up to the end of Season Two now. In this series, people who bit are infected with something that causes a fever, then death, and they have a scan of a brain losing its electric signals to darkness, and then at some point later, part of the brain stem fires back up, just enough to get the body moving, but not the frontal lobe or the part that makes you you. These things will keep moving and functioning until the brain is destroyed, even if they don't have a lower half of the body, and are trapped somewhere unable to move or eat, for example. They don't ever die until the brain is destroyed. So, here's my point for telling you this. Why do they spend time eating? They don't need food to sustain a body. They aren't hungry. Some of them don't even have stomachs at all. So what's the point of the whole eating thing? That's all they do, eat woodchucks or deer or...whatever they can get their hands on. Why? Just wondering.
The other thing it brings up a fair amount is people "opting out" of living in the world as it is...choosing to off themselves quickly rather than live in fear and hunger and uncertainty and danger and the eventual likelihood of being gnawed on by and becoming a monster themselves. It brought to mind movies like "I Am Legend" where Will Smith is alone in a post apocalyptical world of monsters. If I had my family, friends, I would fight, for them. If I was alone in the world, like Will Smith there, I don't know that I would see the point.
Well, time to rest. Plenty to do tomorrow.
