When I woke up this fine Monday morning at 6:15 a.m., I went to the fridge to get milk for Kaylee's cereal, only to find we were out of milk. So I set out a chocolate donut with colored sprinkles and a little left-over Culver's sweet tea for breakfast. To Kaylee's teachers and fellow classmates, I apologize. Go ahead and pass on that Good Parent Award. Now Kaylee herself thought it wasn't a bad breakfast at all. ;)
Kaylee's play is in "Tech Week" all week. She gets home from school at 3:45 or so. She has to leave the house at 4 pm to go to play practice, where she remains until 9 p.m. After that, because it's a full dress rehearsal, she has to take a shower and get all the hairspray and makeup off. And then she gets to start her homework. And she gets to do this every day, for the entire week, culminating in the play Friday night, two plays on Saturday, and one on Sunday. I am guessing Sunday will be an early bedtime.
After we dropped her off at play practice, Steve and I went out to Kokomo and pulled out the 340 to do a little testing and observation. He brought a pen and a pad of paper, and I took us up. We shot several approaches at Marion and Kokomo, including holds and missed approaches, making sure all the autopilot functions work (except the one we know doesn't). I don't think we have any new performance squawks on the airplane, which is good news. With the tracking, the holds, and three instrument approaches, I got almost fully instrument current in one afternoon...if I wasn't already current. Heck, so did Steve if he wants to have been my CFII. :)
By the way. It's cold again. Really cold, and slick and snowy for the morning again, temps down to the double digits in the next couple days. The Winter that Won't Die.
