Whoops

I was on my way to my first flight of the day when I got a text from Nathan that we weren't leaving today for the Convention--that we were leaving next week for it instead. That's a bit of change of plans! So I opened up my schedule for the next five days, and basically refilled it back up within a couple hours.

So I had a checkride prep flight in the 172 this morning after the fog burned off, followed by lunch, followed by a Sport Pilot student in the Champ after lunch, followed right afterwards by spins in the Citabria. One of my students said before they got their license, they wanted to do spins with an instructor, to "slay the dragon" as it were, to know what it felt and looked like and how to recover not just from what the book says, but from reality. So we went up together, and did just a few of them, and that was all they needed. Good enough, mission accomplished, dragon slayed. I enjoy the types of students that are often drawn to country grass strips. ;)

Kaylee's school is having "Spirit Week" all week. I don't like spirit week. Every day the kids are supposed to dress up as something different. I have a hard enough time dressing her up for Halloween. Oh crud, Halloween is coming up fast too. *sigh* Anyway, one day was "Western" day, one day was "Sport" day, then "International" day (tomorrow), another was "Favorite Character" day, and so forth. The last day is "Spirit" day, where they are supposed to wear green and gold, their school colors. Kaylee does not own a green, or a gold, anything. So tomorrow I have to go shopping, before my flights starting from 3 pm and going through to about 11 p.m., because not having something to wear most days is just not cool. Tomorrow she is going as a Jamaican, and it's not a perfect outfit, but I hope it works, because it took us all night to come up with it. Ugh.

I suppose I should go unpack now...
