Steve's been having Kaylee slowly adjust to the new time we'll have to get up by having her go to bed an hour earlier each night until she's at her appropriate bedtime here, and getting up an hour earlier every morning. This morning was 7 a.m., and tomorrow morning is 6:30, which is when we'll have to get up to get her to the bus stop on time. She did okay with the 8 a.m. wakeup, but this 7 a.m. one got her. She did it on her own and came on in, but she was sleeeepy. Tomorrow she'll be busy and wound up, but I bet she's tired tomorrow night. :)
I flew for 2.3 this morning, then another 1.2 this afternoon after lunch, then picked up Kaylee and took her shopping for a new "first day of school" outfit. It took us a couple of different stores and a couple of hours, but then she found it. I then took her to get her hair trimmed, and we went looking for shoes too, but that was unsuccessful. The slip on shoes all rubbed the back of her foot wrong, the sandals were all ugly, flip flops are not what she had in mind, and the prettiest shoes all had heels, which I wouldn't let her get to wear to school all day long. Some day she'll thank me for that. She's happy with everything else though, and it only took me until 8 p.m. to get it all accomplished. :O She's really excited about tomorrow, and I hope she is as happy with her new school situation as she anticipates. :)
I thought this was pretty unbelievable. Like I've said elsewhere, it's good to know that should I run an airplane out of gas, the resulting "crash" won't be my fault. Give me a break. And the FAA did not say it wasn't the pilot's fault, because they do not make determinations the day of a crash, it takes them 6 months or more to get out a report. But there is very little wiggle room around the fact that if he ran it out of gas, it's his fault, inoperative "warning" light and all, considering there is still timing, visual checking, and fuel gauges, and I don't know what planet this story came from...but this guy isn't going to hear the end of this one any time soon...
