Monday

I spent the day trying to remember everything you need to cover for someone's Private Pilot Checkride Prep. See, these days I hand folks over to Joe so he can prep them for the ground stuff, and I do the flying stuff. But Joe's busy, so it kind of fell back on me, and boy am I rusty at this. Most of it has come back now that I stumbled through it once--if I had to do it again right now, I'd be in pretty good shape. But boy, that's tiring, and I'm sure he's feeling it even more than I am. ;) We spent from 9-12 this morning going over all that stuff, then from 4-8 p.m. too. There is A Lot To Do before a checkride. A lot to learn and cover and fill out and plan and know. I look back now and think Thank God I did all seven of the checkrides I've taken while I was young and had a memory and reflexes of steel. ;)

I had another flight today as well, with a pre-solo student in 22 knot winds. I mostly had my feet crossed the whole time, which means he's getting close to me soloing him.

I was supposed to go to a school board meeting tonight, which I found out at the last minute, so I rearranged things to go do that, only to find out two hours later that not enough people could come, so the meeting was canceled until June. We're looking at a lot of things going on this week, and I'm officially way behind. The weather has been too nice and I've been too busy all day every day for so long I can't catch up on other stuff. Ah well, this too shall pass, and one way or the other it'll get done. Eventually. ;)

Unfortunately, Steve woke up this morning not feeling well. His throat was sore, his ears plugged, and now he's sneezing. He didn't know he was getting sick until he was sick, it just hit really fast, meaning we didn't have time to quarantine ourselves. There is never such a thing as good timing, but this in particular isn't the best for him to get sick, or for me to come down with it in a few days here either. Oh man I hope not...
