Workin'

Woo hoo! I came home from work today and our modem was connected and the internet was working just fine. I still don't know if it was "us" or "them", but as long as I'm up and running, I don't care. ;)

I had an hour flight this morning in the 172 doing some checkride prep, and fortunately it was a bright, sunny, (freezing cold) day. We got a lot done, but boy howdy is it cold getting the plane in and out. We're still the only open hangars out there, and a lot of airports are still closed. This was a pretty ferocious snow/ice dump. You just can't get clear it easily because of the ice. Our driveway is still a bit of a mess too, though we make it a little better each time we tromp our 4-wheel-drive vehicles up and down it.

When I picked up Kaylee from school, her first day back in the 3 days and her last day of the week, she told me that two of her classmates had to go home early because they got sick at school, and that she had a really bad headache, her eyes hurt, and she couldn't breathe through her nose. I brought her home and gave her some Tylenol, Zyrtec and a cold compress, and she seemed to be doing fine. We went to Outback for dinner with Nathan and Chuck & Judy, and at the end of the meal she put her head on the table. She took her own temperature and came up with 99.1. She took it again and got 99.4. Took it again and 99.7. I thought she was messing with it so I took mine, which came up 97.6. Took hers again and it was 100.1. It was climbing within the 2 minutes' time it took to take it each time! Another dose of Tylenol for comfort, and she is eating and seems to be doing just fine out there playing. But obviously I'll be keeping an eye on her. She was lying on me on the couch breathing in my face before I knew she was running a temperature. *sigh* At least she has the weekend in which to rest and recover. Hopefully.
