More Snow, Whaddya Know!

We were supposed to get a little dusting of snow today, which would then clear off to be a nice evening, during which I was going to take a night cross-country flight with a student to Columbus, Indiana. Instead, we ended up with about 6" of snow on top of our currently existing snow and ice. It was really pretty impressive, actually. It just kept coming! Steve went out and started shoveling us out by hand, and all he was mostly doing by the house was getting the new 6" off--he was walking on top of the ice crust of previous snow to do it. In some places he started chopping up the ice too, but that is a serious job. Kaylee was out there helping for awhile too. Tomorrow we're going to go back out and try to take care of the base of the driveway where the snow and ice are making it hard for even our four-wheel drive vehicles to get in and out. Tomorrow we're supposed to get another dusting of snow, and then Monday we're looking to get another 1-3". This winter is officially half over as far as the calendar is concerned, and it's been something else!

Kaylee is doing okay. Her temperature is normal, but her poor nose is so stuffed up, and she really can't breathe well. She still went outside for a little while, but she also spent a fair amount of time just snuggling with me, didn't eat much today, and went to bed early without complaint, which shows she's not quite her normal self just yet.

Nice--the largest icycle we've seen at our house. :)
