Mother's Day My Way

My family let me sleep in this morning, and I did so in thorough fashion, not getting up until past 10:30. And boy did that feel good, considering the days I've been getting up at 4:30 or so these last few weeks. :)

Once I was up and ready, I went on out to the airport, pulled out the T-6, and spent over an hour flying around. Our Poker Run is coming up, so I sent one guy off with a bunch of fliers to distribute around to about six different airports, and I took a few fliers to take down to Noblesville Airport, a nice grass strip by Indianapolis (pictured here). After the mission was successfully accomplished, I went up and did some stalls, some rolls, ran past Indian Hills airport, came up by Glenndale's airport, then came on in to Kokomo for some takeoffs and landings. Everything went quite well, and I came away feeling like The Man. (Not A Man, you understand, but "The" Man. Big difference. Just saying.) ;) I stayed and talked with Jon, who was working on our Cherokee 180 to get it ready in time for a flight tomorrow.

I made it home and finished up the monthly billing, which was not really Mother's day fodder, but getting it done and over with felt good enough. When I took the finished bills out to the post office, I stopped by the custard place and picked up treats for all three of us. Now a turtle sundae...THAT'S a Mother's Day feeling. ;)

Kaylee made a pretty card for me, which she had to give me Friday because that's when she had it done. :) When I got back from the airport, Steve and Kaylee had cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen floor, which is awesome!

It was a lovely Mother's Day for me. Beautiful weather, sleeping in, fun flying, hugs, a clean bathtub, and ice cream. That's me in a nutshell! :)

Now on to the Mothers in my life. My own Mom rules, of course! Happy Mother's Day to the poor lady who had to put up with me for my whole life. ;) Kaylee has a silly, dancing, hugging Mom who goes and does special things with just her now and then, because of my mom. You taught me how to be friends with my daughter along with being "mom", too. I love you-much. :) To my other Mom, by marriage, you also teach me grace and Godliness. You raised two very special kids of your own, and I am proud to be part of your family too. :) I thank you both for your unconditional love, your patience, the things you have taught me over the years and the examples you have provided for me. I have a couple of amazing ladies to look to!
