We commenced getting everyone up and out there, and while we were waiting I saw Dulce digging desperately in her little stocking where I had stuffed a cat nip mouse. I didn't expect her to find it on her own, but she did, and went after it with vigor. We enjoyed watching her get herself inebriated on cat nip. Roadie didn't care hardly at all and left hers alone, so I'm sure Dulcie will take care of it for her later when she finishes sleeping it off.
Kaylee started the festivities with her giant stocking, which "Santa" always stuffs full of small real gifts, then moved into gift distribution and opening. When I came out this morning, I was wearing green fuzzy reindeer antlers with bells on them and big dangly green Christmas Ornament ball earrings. Kaylee immediately commented on my earrings as I knew she would, bemoaning the fact she couldn't have any. The last gift of the day was a pair of big dangly green Christmas Ornament ball earrings of her own and the notice that she could get the matching holes in her ears tomorrow. That got a very nice grin followed by a happy dance followed by collapsing on the bean bag chair in the middle of the floor most contentedly. That was fun.
Steve cooked a big old brunch, with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage & gravy biscuits, orange juice, and eggs with sausage & onions in them (for the boys). It's 5:30 p.m. and I'm just now starting to get hungry again. We were going to have a big meal tonight but I'm not sure how many of us are going to be able to fully appreciate it!
Her beads are on her door, her Spy Car is buzzing around and listening in on conversations, her DS game about stylish clothes has already been worn in for over an hour, her Grandma is captive in her room playing games of imagination, the boys are playing with computers and snacking, I'm playing with photos while listening to music, and all is well in the world.
I decided I'd better keep up on my photos lest I end up with a hundred of them to do at once, so you can see the first two pages on Kaylee's site. There are new ones on the first page too, as Ernie added a few. (If you need the password to access the site, email me.) :) Here's a little family photo...
