Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the day I first soloed the T-6. There hasn't been a year's worth of flying since then, as it went down for five months for bad winter weather shortly thereafter, but we'll count it for a year anyway. :) I've gotten to do several pretty excellent things in that year, from flying at a couple of small air shows to a little bit of formation flying to flying into Oshkosh to just learning and having fun. I don't know how much time we have left this season for flying it, or how much I'll be able to do, but I do know that I appreciate every flight I get to make.
Kaylee has been fine all day. No fever, plenty of energy. The only things "off" on her are that she's still coughing and congested a lot, like she has been for the last several weeks probably due to allergies, and that her appetite is way down, which is totally unlike her. This girl can eat more than I can normally, but her stomach has shrunk a bit and she gets stuffed with a piece of chicken and a drink right now. Other than that she is back to her sarcastic, hopping-around-crazily self. :)
I just finished reading Dan Brown's latest "The Lost Symbol", and thought that was pretty interesting. Like him or dislike him, think he's writing hidden wise truths or just enjoying a work of pure fiction, say what you like, it's entertaining and kind of impressive. Anybody who could come up with that intricate of a plot line with regards to history, religion and science all merged, and make it seem perfectly plausible by using real facts interpreted in reasonable-sounding ways on top of it all, has some serious brain power.
Today has found me draggy, and from meeting up with some friends at lunch, I found I wasn't the only one in that condition. I decided to take it easy today with Kaylee. We slept in, we spent a lot of time cuddling on the couch, I read a book while my 4,000th load of laundry ran (not really, but it seems like it--I got behind), I just...took it slow today, with her.
