Off the Grid

When Kaylee was lying across my lap picking songs to play off of the laptop, she ran across one called "Best of Both Worlds" and eagerly wanted to select it. She wasn't quite so interested when I told her it was Van Halen, not Hannah Montana. ;)

I woke her up around midnight and brought her out to the living room, and we laid on the couches and watched cartoons and hung out until she passed out again sometime around three a.m. Sometime around six or so, she climbed up under my covers to fall asleep cuddling with me, and stayed that way until Steve left to go work on a computer job. We had a nice time. :)

On the random end of things, it will be great when the current "in" hairstyle of long bangs goes away. Most of the new season of TV shows have the actresses with these bangs so far down over their eyes that it's practically hitting their upper eyelashes. Some guys, too. Ick. I just want to brush them back out of the way, because that would drive me nuts. And that sounds like my Grandmother speaking, but hey, it's true. Since "no bangs" was in for awhile, "great big long thick hangy bangs" must therefore be in style for awhile per the cyclical rules of society, but the good news is that after awhile it will be back "out" and people will have eyebrows and foreheads and wide open eyes without hair hanging in them again... Speaking of hair, Kaylee would like to grow her hair long again. She said she liked it short, but she misses the long, so that's her plan. :)

It was a quiet day here. Steve and I both did some work, then spent the rest of the day just relaxing, hanging out, napping, enjoying Kaylee, snacking, and taking a good portion of the day off the grid.
