The Stants family is dragging today, and I'm sure others are too. There is still quite a bit of stuff to put back in order at Glenndale that the guys have been working on, and we're still working through the tally of what came in for the event. I worked on the few photos I took and have been trying to play a little catch-up on the house before it gets declared a disaster area. :) I had a board meeting tonight at the school, and it was over in record time due to a Colts game that the majority wanted to see.
Kaylee told me tonight that she doesn't want to be in cheer any more. I asked her why, and told her to take a week off and decide for sure, because if we pull her out, she's not going to be able to just go back in later. (They work on a specific routine, etc.) So she took tonight off and seems quite serious about not returning. We'll see...
In the car the other day, Kaylee was telling me about one of the girls in her class who loves to read and watch scary things, vampire books, etc., and keeps trying to get Kaylee to read and watch them too. Kaylee says to me, "I don't get it. Why would somebody want to be scared? I get scared and I don't like it AT ALL. I try so hard to not be scared! It doesn't make any sense!" The difference for her is that she really DOES get scared; truly, fully, 100% terrified, and it's not a little thrill like it is for some people. I've told her before to be careful what she watches and reads, because even simple things can give her serious nightmares and terrifying thoughts, and once it gets in her head, it doesn't ever really leave, poor girl.
On a sad note, a little girl named Olivia passed away from SMA last night. Her dad is a Respiratory Therapist. She wasn't sick at all, just had normal secretions that we all just take care of without even thinking about it, but it plugged up her airway. Her dad tried to save her, but he couldn't get the secretions and plug out in time, and she died in his arms. She was 3 1/2 years old. And SMA strikes again...
