Energy

My (1.5) flight this morning turned out to be one of those where the guy just nails it, can't hardly do anything wrong, and that started the day off on a smile, because he has worked SO hard. I love it when someone perseveres for as long as he has and it ends up clicking in for them and I can visibly see the confidence rise. :)

Actually, everything I did today was working out unusually well--orders made without problems, plans made successfully, shipments that arrived early for an SMA thing, a couple of problems solved easily, etc.--until it was time to pick Kaylee up from school. I left the house early to go to the bank, and got halfway to her school before I realized I went the wrong way. I turned around to go back to the bank, saw the gas station and glanced down and realized I was down to 1/8 of a tank, pulled in, shut the car off, reached over for my purse...which I had left at home. Ah well, what's a little double brain pause to break up the day? ;)

Kaylee was excited to get to go to McDonald's PlayLand this evening with Maggie & Hannah. They played over an hour while Chuck and I hung out in the din. Actually, it wasn't that bad-there were times they were the only kids there. I always like it when Kaylee burns off some of that excess energy she seems to have been born with, and when she gets to do it with a friend or two, even better...

The trick tonight will be getting Kaylee to stay in bed while this round of pretty decent-sized storms rolls through. We have a tornado watch and thunderstorm warning at the moment, the air just went still, the cicadas and birds just went quiet, and everything is poised...oops, I mean iiiit's heeeere. :)
