Today was a quiet one for the most part. Steve had some lessons to give, and I worked at home on some paperwork and shipped off some stuff. We all met up for lunch, and Happy Birthday to Nathan by the way. :)
Tonight I had a ground "Pinch Hitter" lesson for a couple of people to go over some of the material they need to get a basic understanding of flying, how it works, any concerns they have about flying, and what to do to get a plane down safely in case of a problem with the pilot. I think that has to be the most I've talked in a very long time, because at the end of it my voice was actually going out. One was into physics and wanted to know how everything worked, and the other wasn't as interested in how it worked but did want to know what to do with the radios, the controls, what to say, how to navigate, etc. We had a good time and got a lot accomplished in a couple of hours there.
The corn has really shot up tall these last couple of weeks, and as I was driving down to Sheridan on the back roads at sunset, it was just raining bugs on my windshield. I couldn't even clear them off with wipers and washer fluid--they just stuck to my window like glue, and I couldn't hardly see through my window. So when I finished up, I literally had to run my car through a car wash just to wipe off the bug remains enough to see well. I think I may stick to the slower route down Hwy 31 next time.
Kaylee is recuperating from some fun but busy days, and looking forward to a little free swimming (as in not regimented) coming up soon here. :)
