Boring Flying Stuff

The morning began sunny and bright, and after I dropped Kaylee off at school, I went on out to the airport to do a few things. Chuck stopped by in the Citabria and flew me up to Huntington, and it was 1) a beautiful morning and 2) the slowest trip to Huntington I'd made up till then. :) We had a groundspeed of about 70 knots for awhile, which I mentioned was about my highway speed. It was a nice day for a low and slow trip though. See? :) When we landed, unfortunately the tailwheel broke a spring, but fortunately it was still steerable. The guys at Huntington ran down the runway and found the spring in the middle of the runway (thankfully, for a couple of reasons) and things were put back in order.

I picked up the T-6 there to bring it back to Kokomo. I went ahead and went on up to 6500' and opened the canopy and enjoyed the breeze, and once I got back to the Kokomo area I circled overhead and watched Chuck land at Glenndale in the Citabria, then went out and played with some aileron rolls for awhile. (This one is an old photo, by the way, if you don't recognize it, but it looked like this today too.) ;) I don't know how many rolls later, maybe ten, I came on back in to do a couple of landings. Steve was out there in a 172 with a student, Ty was out in a Chief, Chuck was out, well, everybody was out-almost all of our planes that are "up" flew today at least once. It was too nice of a day to miss, I guess.

No new Kaylee stories today, she's just taking care of her new outdoor cat each day too, enjoying school still, no funny conversations (other than she keeps calling "pigtails" in hair "pink tails"). Steve is working late and having a dinner meeting, I'm going to try to get the airport billing in the mail quickly, and life goes on...
