I picked Kaylee up from school, and we commenced on a girls'-afternoon-out! I drove her to the local theater and we watched the "Hannah Montana" movie. We got the drink and the snack and everything. She liked the movie and we had a fun time. For awhile she was in the seat next to me with her head lying on my shoulder, holding my hand, just watching. It was sweet. :) Here are a few pictures I took at the theater, on the bottom of this page, including a nice glare she shot me.As soon as the movie was over, I ran Kaylee home, dropped her off in the driveway, and headed right out to a school board meeting. I learned tonight that one of the girls in Kaylee's class has a little brother in the hospital with RSV right now. RSV is...bad news. I know that it's not as bad on healthy older children as it is on babies and kids like the SMA kids, but it's still bad news, and I wish the siblings hadn't been in school today. The parents didn't think about how contagious this disease is, or didn't know, but I hope nobody else catches it.
Kaylee's end-of-school program is May 12th, but she's actually in school until the end of May thanks to all the bad weather days off and delays that she so enjoyed during the dreary winter months. Okay, I didn't mind either, since we'd get to sleep in, go sledding, etc. :) The school did all the state equivalency testing before Spring Break, and while the results aren't in yet, the teachers looked at them and said they thought the kids would do really well. I strongly dislike this system where teachers have to teach to a test, not teach to learn. Thankfully, so far this school is doing a great job doing both...one of the advantages of being small with dedicated teachers. :)
To end, here's a photo Trey took Saturday at Kokomo in the midst of a roll.
