I had made up an Easter basket and hid it last night, so Kaylee's first action of the day was to
find her basket, which she did pronto. Steve made pancakes, and I boiled the other 11 eggs so we could dye them. She decorated them as she pleased and I did a few too. After they were done, I hid them around the house while Kaylee was outside, and she went on a little egg hunt. Usually we do it outside, so this year she wanted to do it inside. If we had been thinking, we'd have brought (plastic!) candy-filled eggs out to the airport yesterday and hidden them out there for all the kids to find. They'd have loved that. But it didn't occur to us until it was too late...I tried to take a nap or two today, but never got more than barely out before Energizer Bunny Kaylee hopped on and woke me up. I don't know how she's still going! Youth. :)
I got out what are called Resurrection Eggs; little eggs that have the Biblical Easter story separated into 12 parts, with a little trinket in each egg that describes the next part of the story. A little rock in one that stands for the stone that was rolled away from the grave, for example. There's a booklet that you can read from and do a devotion for each "egg", but Kaylee didn't give me the chance to tell her the story this year-she told it to me faster than I could tell her anything. :)
And she enjoyed the Easter calls she got from her Grandmas and Grandpas too, thank you! :) I've got some pictures up, just a few nothing fancy from dyeing eggs today, on the bottom half of this page. I have a few photos I took over Saturday as well that I need to put up, and I know Trey took a bunch too, but right now Kaylee is insisting on the computer (politely asking, actually) so she can play a Disney Fairy game before she has to go to bed...
Oh, one more thing I forgot about yesterday. Nathan had been talking about getting a can cruncher out at the hangar so we can recycle all our cans-that works for me, we do it at home anyway. Chuck handed Nathan his root beer can to crunch, Nathan said it wasn't his problem, so I grabbed it, dented it, put it on the floor, and stomped on it to flatten it. One problem. I didn't hit the can square, and it shot out from under my foot and slammed into the side of...a custom Corvette that didn't belong to me. Nathan was standing there and he spun around and faced the other way so that he didn't see a thing, and I think everybody else was mostly quiet as I in a somewhat panicked fashion started looking for a mark, which thank God I did not find, then laid my head on the table to recover. Of all the dumb...good grief. My nausea and adrenaline took awhile to subside, and it may be awhile before I live that one down. ;)
