Today Steve spent on a couple of computer jobs, and I spent doing laundry and playing with Kaylee. She has been flying her little remote controlled Tinkerbelle all over the house, and having a great time with it, for which I am grateful. See, Tink was a present to her from her Grandma. When I opened it, I clipped a wire that I thought was holding her into the box. I was wrong. It was a wire holding on one of her wings. We weren't sure if she would still fly or not, so we charged her up and waited for a good day, only to find that while she would flutter like crazy, and you could toss her like a glider, she would in fact not stay in the air. So I went out and immediately got another one because a kid can't have her birthday present destroyed by her mother before she even gets to play with it. It came in the other day, and today is the first time we had a chance to get it charged up and ready to go, and she's been playing with it all day and loves it.
The "stimulus" package also provides $335 million for sexually transmitted disease education and prevention programs and $200 million to put grass around the Jefferson Monument. Huh. Do you think maybe it's more a Wish List of Things "We" Want To Do But Couldn't Before And Now We Can Push It Through in the name of The Economy because People Won't Really Look At It During This Crisis So We Can Do Whatever We Want? Just a thought.
Kaylee had another cheer game tonight, at the public school she would be attending were she to go there in high school. She told me today she's not in the mood to do a cheer thing tonight, but wants to "stay home and relax". I told her she has no choice this season, because once you are part of a team, you have to finish your commitment. But I told her I'd be happy to remove her from the cheer roster for next year if she preferred. :) I videotaped her routine for this year tonight, since I hadn't done that yet...I like last year's routine better, myself, but this year Kaylee gets to do a running cartwheel across the floor, so that's fun for her. I asked her after the game if she wanted to come back next year, and she said she likes performing for the crowd.
This photo is of icicles at night. Why did I take this photo? I...don't know. Why am I posting it? I *really* don't know. Hmm, that looked lighter on my computer...

I thought this was kind of interesting too. Popularity graph of former presidents from Truman through W Bush...
