Mutterings for Monday

This morning was the first time we had to wake up early to an alarm clock in 2 weeks. It wasn't so bad, actually, but by Thursday I'm guessing the novelty will have worn off again. ;)

So I have a couple of things to mutter about-feel free to skip if you are not in the mood for Monday Mutterings:

  • I ended up following a red Camero for miles and miles out in the back roads. So...if you are driving a shiny red sports car of sorts, drive it. I think I'll leave that muttering there.

  • Today I was reminded of something that I didn't used to believe Steve on, but over time have had no choice but concede. Why is it common that when a person makes a commitment to do something, and then doesn't do it, that they then tend to be annoyed or angry at the person or company to whom they made their agreement? For example, somebody agrees to volunteer at something, then backs out of it, then suddenly doesn't come around and is making negative statements about it. For another, two people make a deal, one doesn't keep up their end of the deal, but they are the ones talking badly of the other who did. And you might be amazed how many people rack up a bill, go months without paying it, and then get highly annoyed or self-righteous when asked about it. I recall (many more than) one situation where someone owed a good amount of money, was sent a bill every month, never paid even in installments even though they had the funds to do so, and yes I know that, and then when they finally did pay, they were angry and/or offended and/or doing us a favor and wanted nothing further to do with us. I'm so sorry that us being out thousands of dollars for months after we forced you to choose to take that airplane made us such bad people. *eyeroll* You wouldn't think this is the case, and it should not be. But it is. I'm so glad my mother raised (okay, I know "reared" is technically correct for children, but these days 'raised' sounds much better!) me better than that.

  • I lost my keys. I took my car key off the ring so I could leave it in case anyone needed to move my car at the airport. I didn't want to leave my whole key ring, so I took it off. This was Friday and I haven't seen my keys since. This is not a good thing. I was running around so much that I can't even picture what I did with them right after I took the car key off. It's a blank. My bags are all unpacked and I just searched my car and the plane to no avail. *sigh*

I'm done muttering now. :)

Today was typical-get the girl to school, get some work done at home, go out to the office and enter time sheets, hit lunch, run out to Kokomo for about 45 minutes, pick up the girl at school, stop by the computer place and pick up something, get girl home, fed, changed and back out the door to cheer practice, run over and participate in a school board meeting, leave meeting a little early to pick up girl at cheer practice, fix dinner, make phone calls, get girl in bed (again), do dishes, sit down and make blog entry.

Cathy took this picture at the airport in Nashville and I thought it was kind of sweet. Kaylee's got a piece of candy in her cheek, she doesn't really have the Mumps. ;)

Hey, Happy Monday. :)
