I ended up sleeping in much later than I intended, but I have to admit it felt pretty good. Apparently I needed my beauty sleep. :) Most of the day was spent quietly at home, and I got about halfway through my new Patricia Cornwell book. At 6 p.m. the three of us went over to the Wild's house for an airport Christmas party. I saw people from the Kokomo, Sheridan and Glenndale airports all there, about 85 people in all, which was great. I got around to spending time with most of the people there right up to the point that a chair opened up at a table, and from there on out I didn't much get up and wander around and chat lest I lose my good seat. ;) I think it's fairly unusual for a local aviation community to have so many participants at an off-airport function, and I thought that was great. A handful of us were left at the end, sitting around the counter with the host/hostess and watching a military aviation movie on the tv behind the mirror. When it was time to go, I went upstairs and hunted down my daughter, who literally grabbed onto the railing of the stairway saying "I don't want to go home! I don't want to go home! Don't make me go home yet!" We get her in the car, she buckles up, and promptly tries to go to sleep. Steve and I said "No! You can't go to sleep! You can't sleep yet! You have to wait! You wanted to wait!" She didn't really have a very pleasant response to our teasing her about it, particularly when Steve turned around and shook her and she growled out something like "Don't bother me!" I'm guessing she sleeps in tomorrow. :)
I brought my camera, but left it in my purse which I left in my car so I wouldn't have to carry it around. Otherwise it would be nice to put up some photos-but I didn't see anyone with a camera, so I guess we're out of luck this time. Ah, well. A lot of people told us they had an enjoyable time, so maybe we'll be able to do it next year...
