It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...

First we had to move the treadmill out of the way so we could put up our Christmas tree. We moved it across the house, and I have to admit that was the most exercise I've gotten with it for awhile...something I ought to remedy. :)

It pretty much took most of the day to get the Christmas stuff out, but now that Kaylee is older and much more enthusiastic about decorations than we are, it goes much faster with three of us working at it. Kaylee put up a lot of the around-the-house decorations, and she unpacked and set up the Nativity scene as well. Usually, when I arrange it, I set it up so that the figures are all the way across the whole bookshelf top that they are resting on, and arrange Mary, Joseph and Jesus somewhere in front of them all. I came back when Kaylee was done setting them up, and it looked like they were all just in kind of a ball in the middle of the shelf with tons of empty space on all sides. I started to rearrange it, spread it out, make it look a little more balanced/artistic, and then I realized what she'd done. She put baby Jesus in the center, and then she took every single other figure there; his parents, the wisemen, the angel and the animals, and she put them all in a circle around Jesus, all looking at him. You know, that seems fairly appropriate to me. I left it just as it is. :)

So, the snow is blowing, the tree is up and lit and decorated, the Christmas candles are out, the giant hot chocolate Christmas mugs are in the cupboard, and we have officially reached the Countdown to Christmas as far as Kaylee is concerned...

Naturally I put up some photos of the process, mostly of Kaylee since the rest of us weren't very photo presentable. ;)

A nice dinner of fish and veggies followed by a relaxing evening is the plan; have a good weekend!
