The Wet One

Today was spent dodging the rain. It was cool, overcast, gray and wet all day long; still is in fact. Glenndale's runway is a lake once again, and flying was brought to a halt for the day.

I put some stuff away in the SMA storage area, whittled my email inbox down from 139 to 87, went to lunch at Half Moon, did a little work from home before picking up Kaylee, worked on her Awanas stuff and took her there. Tonight is her last night of Awanas for the year, so from now on she'll have Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday off with no after-school activities.

Kaylee's teacher gave me a black robe, which is part of her costume as a "Praying Mantis" for her school play, and told me I needed to hem up the bottom and the arms to fit Kaylee. By Monday. *snort* Uh-oh. Do you think you can see safety pins from the stage? Where do you buy a batch of safety pins, anyway? Aaaaaaargh.

That reminds me, I was sitting there at the office trying to figure out what on earth a priest's collar and a black robe had to do with a bug. It's a bug play. My daughter is a bug that looks like sticks. It just didn't match. Nathan was the one that said basically "Hello, she's a PRAYING Mantis." Ooooooooooh! Duh. I am a little slow on the take now and then. ;)
